Our Mission
The Central Commonwealth
Perinatal Council is devoted to the fulfillment of 3 major goals:
 | To ensure access to perinatal care in Region VI.
|
| To reduce the incidence and morbidity associated
with low birth weight in Region VI. |
| To reduce infant mortality and morbidity in Virginia
|
Objectives of CCPC:
| Provide support for maternal and infant policy
development and legislative studies through the RPCC. |
| Inform and educate the public and families about
maternal and child health issues. |
| Increase knowledge and linkages of services for at
risk pregnant women and infants. |
| Mobilize community partnerships to build the
regional consortium in order to identify and solve maternal and infant health
problems. |
| To ensure that pregnant women and low birthweight
infants receive risk assessment screening and risk appropriate services.
|
| Conduct the Maternal and Fetal Infant Mortality
Review Program through Healthy Start in Richmond and coordinate with other
mortality review programs in the state. |
