Our Mission

The Central Commonwealth Perinatal Council is devoted to the fulfillment of 3 major goals: 

To ensure access to perinatal care in Region VI.
To reduce the incidence and morbidity associated with low birth weight in Region VI.
To reduce infant mortality and morbidity in Virginia

Objectives of CCPC:

Provide support for maternal and infant policy development and legislative studies through the RPCC.
Inform and educate the public and families about maternal and child health issues.
Increase knowledge and linkages of services for at risk pregnant women and infants. 
Mobilize community partnerships to build the regional consortium in order to identify and solve maternal and infant health problems.
To ensure that pregnant women and low birthweight infants receive risk assessment screening and risk appropriate services.
Conduct the Maternal and Fetal Infant Mortality Review Program through Healthy Start in Richmond and coordinate with other mortality review programs in the state.
